I like how Anaru describes how one should relate to the pain in their body as it rises to the surface during a session. ( Go to: 5:50 ) . I often tell my clients that I am not actually creating any pain but rather pointing out where the pain resides in their body. People have often ignored it for so long that they no longer even know it is there until we begin to work together. By moving slowly, applying deep compression and asking a client to bring awareness to the area with their breath, together we can begin to rid the body of the past.
